I have one of these magnificant beasts in my box at home. The X
server works just fine, so do svgalib apps - but not in all the very
high resolution / colour-depth modes. However, I can get at least
1024x768 x 8bpp or it could have even been 16bpp (I'm not sure - is
there an easy way to tell).

I had tweaked my /etc/vga/libvga.config file a little for the S3ViRGE
card I was using previously, and no problems using it as is with the
banshee. When I get the time I'll try tweaking it some more to see
what happens. The banshee can do much higher clocks than the S3V
could ever do (at least double the speed).

I'm just hanging out for the X server to get all the full
accelleration stuff into it, and the glide/mesa library support to
start happening - then I can start playing Quake2 under linux in full
3D mode (rather than having to boot to winloose to do this).

Very, VERY nice card. Stunning, in fact. These new 3D cards are
definitely the way of the future...

Cheers
Tony
