If the mouse does not behave compatible to any of the supported modi (as the Xfree hint also suggests), there is not much you can do, except write a mouse driver for it, of course. Well, using gpm is a way out of it, though I expect it to slow things down, which won't be nice for quake. It won't suffice just to set the type to gpm in /etc/vga/vgalib.config. You'll also have to do 'mdev /dev/gpmdata' if this is what the newer gpm's use. As quake might not know about all this and enforce another mouse type, a 'mouse_override' in /etc/vga/vgalib.config might help too. Oh, and I think the config file is named libvga.config. Other than that I'm really clueless. Michael. -- Michael Weller: eowmob@exp-math.uni-essen.de, eowmob@ms.exp-math.uni-essen.de, or even mat42b@spi.power.uni-essen.de.
