G'day, I thought I'd mention that I put some of my older game-developing related SVGAlib code (in C) on my website. The code is old and messy (partially from '98), but some of it addresses some issues that people, not unlike myself who are not very acquainted with programming tend to ask about. Raw keyboard access, an example of a proprietary image format, indexed pixmap fonts, taking screenshots, audio using Midas, were issues that puzzled me when I was learing to code with SVGAlib and took a considerable amount of time to get functional, partly because I was also only getting acquanted to C and linux, but nevertheless. An example of a proprietary image format (draw images, get screenshots) : http://www.hut.fi/~mfkoskin/i9r/ A small game using SVGAlib (raw keyboard, audio etc.) : http://www.hut.fi/~mfkoskin/ufo/ Please note that this is old and inefficient code that I did mostly years ago, and available mainly for reference. Be sure to improve any stuff you copy :). I haven't used SVGAlib for a while due to compatibility problems with my video-card, and due to that and other hurries won't recode any of the above material. Hopefully they will help you out more than they confuse you. Should you like to improve any of that material, or think I can help you out somewhere feel free to send me some email. Cheers, Markus. ____________________________________________________________________ Markus.Koskinen@hut.fi http://www.hut.fi/~mfkoskin Work fascinates me.
