Lab #2 1) hardware 1st card is 0:9.0 S3 Trio 64 V+ PCI 2nd card is 1:0.0 Riva 128 AGP 2) vbios Then 2 cards are initialized. 3) setpci -s 1:0.0 command=3 4) insmod svgalib_helper module is loaded 5) check config files file /etc/vga/libvga.config.0 : pcistart 0 9.0 include /etc/vga/libvga.config.common chipset S3 HorizSync 31.5 35.1 VertRefresh 50 70 file /etc/vga/libvga.config.1 pcistart 1 0 secondary novccontrol include /etc/vga/libvga.config.common chipset NV3 HorizSync 31.5 35.1 VertRefresh 50 70 6) in user 1 export SVGALIB_CARD=0 use 1st card ./vgatest then select mode 17, it works press a key to quit 7) in user 2 export SVGALIB_CARD=1 use 2nd card ./vgatest then select mode 17, it works don't quit 8) switch to user 1 again, and run ./vgatest select mode 17 Then we get 2 monitors working!!!
