I had the same problem. "Solved" it by buying a RIVA128 card. Even if the next version of XFree86 will support that chipset, it will most probably be an alpha driver. Don't expect any Linux distribution to play well with it any time soon. Sorry, but it is the naked truth. What do you make of this?
