Is it better to choose a color table before, or after, doing so-called "gamma correction"? That is, should one apply gamma correction to the larger color space and then choose the smaller space, or should one choose a smaller space directly from the larger, and then gamma correct the smaller space?
This seems to be a simple question, but I don't come up with any references which seem to treat it.
