First thing to do is look at the test programs that come with svgalib. If I
remember correctly, some of them draw lines in different colours. Try them
on your hardware and see what happens. Identify which one draws the lines
and make a copy of it. Use this copy as your test harness. You can add a
little code to this harness and see what happens without having to do all of
it from scratch. Experiment, them come back.

You should keep to a low resolution of 320x200x256 to start with. This will
eliminate your bank switching problems while you become familiar with
svgalib. For fast matrix rotation search for graphics GEMS on the net, these
[rotations] will probably be well discussed there.
