V1000/V2x00 support?

Anyone know of any efforts to support the Rendition V1000/V2x00 chipset
with svgalib?  The VESA modes don't work (result in blank screen). 
Performance is very slow with VGA mode.

(Card is Diamond Steath II S220 w/ Rendition V2100)
